2019 VCE Results and School Achievements

This year 37 students achieved perfect ATAR of 99.95, with 29 boys and 8 girls.

As usual, girls outperformed boys, achieving an average ATAR of 68.86 compared with 66.42 for their male counterparts. The average ATAR for all students was 67.74.

Lauriston Girls' School - 43% of students achieved an ATAR above 90

• 25% of 53 VCE students achieved an ATAR over 95.
• 43% of students achieved a score above 90.
• 6% of our girls were in the top 1% of the state with ATAR scores above 99.

It is a great year for Arts and Maths at Lauriston - 62% of Studio Arts students and 50% of Visual Communication and Design students received a study score of 40 and above, as did 42% of Further Maths students.

Mentone Girls' Grammar School - median ATAR of 87.83, 25% above 95, 41.2% above 90

The school's dux Madeline Li, achieved an ATAR of 99.65.

Scotch College - six students got ATAR 99.95 again

Six Scotch College students have achieved perfect scores again this year: Rupert Balfe, Tianqi Feng, Matthew Lee, Harrison Liu, William Sutherland, and Yulin (Kevin) Wu.

55% (out of 135 students) obtained an ATAR of 90 or more.

Haileybury - half got an ATAR in the top 10% in Australia

Half of Haileybury College students got an ATAR in the top 10 per cent in Australia.

The school comprises five campuses including one in Beijing.

Mount Scopus - 7 perfect study scores, 6.2% achieved an ATAR of 99 or above

Mount Scopus Memorial College in Burwood has achieved a median study score of 38 this year, and 37.4% of scores were 40 or over. The median score is equal to the highest score achieved by any school in the state last year. We'll see whether the school will be ranked number 1 this year as in 2014.

Camberwell Grammar School - four perfect ATAR of 99.95, 16% above 99, 52% above 90

Four students of Camberwell Grammar School achieved perfect ATARs. They are James Gunasegaram, Ian Chen, Andrew Zeng and Lachlan Doig.

Camberwell Girls Grammar School - one perfect ATAR of 99.95, median ATAR of 93, 60% above 90

The dux of Camberwell Girls Grammar School achieved a perfect ATAR of 99.95. 

Fintona Girls' School - median ATAR of 91.3, 9% above 99, 51% above 90

Shelford Girls' Grammar - median ATAR of 92.40, 55% above 90

Brighton Grammar School - one perfect ATAR of 99.95, 38% above 90

The school's dux James Mitchell achieved a perfect ATAR of 99.95.

Trinity Grammar School - 2 perfect ATAR of 99.95, median ATAR of 91.30, 53% above 90

Two students at Trinity Grammar School in Kew, Ned Grimsey and Daniel Gu, achieved the highest-possible ATAR of 99.95.

Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School - one perfect ATAR of 99.95, median ATAR of 87.35, 27% above 95

The School's dux, Douglas Heal, achieved a perfect ATAR of 99.95. 

Methodist Ladies' College - one perfect ATAR of 99.95, median ATAR of 89.5, 48% above 90

13 students at the school scored above 99. One student Lucinda Xiao achieved a perfect ATAR of 99.95.

Almost half of Methodist Ladies' College students in 2019 received an ATAR over 90.

Presbyterian Ladies College - one perfect ATAR of 99.95, median ATAR of 91.55, 57.3% above 90

One student at PLC in Burwood, Kethmi Gamage, achieved a perfect ATAR of 99.95.

Bialik College - median ATAR of 94.25

Almost two thirds of the 2019 student cohort of Bialik College achieved an ATAR over 90

Loreto Mandeville Hall - 25% above an ATAR of 95, 46% above 90

Toorak College - 43% above an ATAR of 90

Genazzano FCJ College - 7% above an ATAR of 99, 50% above 90

Half of the students achieved an ATAR above 90, while 7% were over 99.

Strathcona Girls Grammar - median ATAR of 90.4, 51% above 90

Kilvington Grammar - 52% above an ATAR of 90

Five students at Kilvington Grammar achieved an ATAR above 99.

Ballarat Clarendon College - median ATAR of 92.6, 10% above 99, 60% above 90

Mac Robertson Girls' High School - 1 perfect ATAR of 99.95, median ATAR 95.20

Mac Robertson Girls' High School is a selective entry girl's school. More than three quarters of the school's year 12 students achieved an ATAR over 90.

Melbourne High School - 1 perfect ATAR of 99.95, 67% over 90

Melbourne High School is a selective entry boy's school.

Nossal High School - 1 perfect ATAR of 99.95, median ATAR 90.3, 52% over 90

Nossal High is a selective government school.

The dux of Nossal High School, Ruby Bai, achieved a perfect ATAR, the highest possible result.

John Monash Science School

John Monash Science School is a selective science school. Half of its cohort achieved an ATAR above 90. The dux of the School achieved an ATAR of 99.90.

Box Hill High School - 1 perfect ATAR of 99.95, 40% over 90

The dux of Box Hill High School has achieved a perfect ATAR - the highest score possible.

40 per cent of the cohort received an ATAR of 90 or above.

Suzanne Cory High School - median ATAR of 87.9, 41% over 90

Suzanne Cory High School is a selective entry government school.

Thornbury High School - median study score of 31

Thornbury High School achieved the highest median study score of 31 in the school’s history. Please note that median study score is different from median ATAR.

12 students with ATARS of 90 and above, which is triple what they had last year 6% of study scores 40 and above, nearly double last year’s results.

The school dux Dhilan Vallury achieved an ATAR of 99.20.

McKinnon Secondary College

98 per cent of students in McKinnon Secondary College received ATARs of 50 or above.

Mentone Girls Secondary College

The school's dux Alicia Gilpin has achieved an ATAR of 99.65.
