Discover why Haileybury is the benchmark!

Hello there, firstly I just wanted to say thank you for this amazing resource! My friends and I have used it as a great tool in choosing schools for our children next year. I just had a questions regarding if a school & its results are not available on your site… why is this? Is it by the schools preference/ request? Thank you.

We have rated almost all Australian primary and secondary schools (close to 10000) for many years. Some of our site visitors couldn’t find some schools because they only looked at the lists of top schools, which only counts the top 25% of the schools in each state. However, they should be able to find any school on Ratings (Example) or Compare Schools (Example) page.

On Ratings pages, you can also find local schools by radius.

On Compare Schools pages, you can find school’s trend, compare school results and trends side-by-side with 2D/3D charts.

For year 12 results, it varies from state to state. But all the schools in Victoria, Queensland, WA, TAS, ACT are fully covered, while the rest are partially rated with lists of top schools. NSW HSC results and ratings are quite extensive, but not 100%. Only a small portion of schools or students choose to opt out. Please also check / expand the details on the usage of  ranking tables, the rating criteria and related information. For example, VCE results won't be included for a small school with less than 20 study scores or a school doesn't have study scores of 40 and over (ie. percentage of study scores of 40+ is 0).

Please visit Better Education Forum FAQ and many other topics for more information.

There is also an easier way to find schools from the school search box on home page or the school finder shortcut button on the toolbar on any page. If the school is partially selective, you will find one listing under selective schools and one under government schools. At the bottom of each profile page, there are hyperlinks to school results pages.

Please note that on top school pages, there are tips on finding schools in a section marked as Important. Expand the section. You will see something like the following screenshot.
