What's the BrowserWatchdog browser? How to remove it from my computer ?

BrowserWatchdog is an adware program, that displays pop-up ads and advertisements on web pages that you visit. These advertisements will be shown as boxes containing various coupons that are available, as underlined keywords, pop-up ads or advertising banners.

Follow all steps in correct order to completely and successfully remove BrowserWatchdog adware.

Step 1 – Remove BrowserWatchdog adware from your computer
Step 2 – Remove BrowserWatchdog extension from your browser
Step 3 – Remove BrowserWatchdog adware Files and Folders using AdwCleaner
Step 4 – Clean your computer with using MalwareBytes Anti-Malware

Step 1 – Remove BrowserWatchdog adware from your computer

1. Open Programs and Features by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Programs and Features.
2. Select BrowserWatchdog , and then click Uninstall. Some programs include the option to change or repair the program in addition to uninstalling it, but many simply offer the option to uninstall. To change a program, click Change or Repair. Administrator permission required If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Remove all recent installed software, sort by “Installed on” to easily find recent installed software.

  • Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
    (If you’re using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.)
  • Enter control panel in the search box, and then tap or click Control Panel.
  • Under View by: select Large Icons, and then tap or click Programs and features.
  • Tap or click BrowserWatchdog , and then tap or click Uninstall.
  • Follow the instructions on the screen. Make sure when you uninstall the malware that there is no extra software is offered during uninstallation and read every pop-up before clicking any button.
    Remove all recent installed software, sort by “Installed on” to easily find recent installed software.


    Step 2 – Remove BrowserWatchdog extension from your browser

  • Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.
  • Tap or click the Tools button, and then tap or click Manage add-ons.
  • Under Show, tap or click All add-ons, and then select BrowserWatchdog
  • Make sure to remove all BHO’s you do not know or need. If you don’t use any BHO remove everything listed in the Add-ons panel.
  • If the add-on can be deleted, you’ll see the Remove option. Tap or click Remove and then tap or click Close. Otherwise click Disable button.

  • Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
  • Click Tools.
  • Select Extensions.
  • Click the trash by the BrowserWatchdog extension you’d like to completely remove.
  • Make sure to remove all extensions you do not know or need. If you don’t use any extension remove everything listed in the extensions panel.
  • A confirmation dialog appears, click Remove.

  • Click the menu button and choose Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
  • In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions or Appearance panel.
  • Select BrowserWatchdog

  • Make sure to remove all extensions you do not know or need. If you don’t use any extension remove everything listed in the extensions panel.
  • Click its Disable or Remove button. Remove button is preferred if available.
  • Click Restart now if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.


    STEP 3 – Remove BrowserWatchdog adware using AdwCleaner

    AdwCleaner is a program that searches for and deletes Adware, Toolbars, Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUP), and browser Hijackers from your computer. By using AdwCleaner you can easily remove many of these types of programs for a better user experience on your computer and while browsing the web.

    1. Download and install AdwCleaner

    2. Before starting AdwCleaner, close all open programs and internet browsers, then double-click on the AdwCleaner icon.

    3. When the AdwCleaner program will open, click on the “Scan” button as shown below.

    AdwCleaner will now start to search for the BrowserWatchdog malicious files that may be installed on your computer.

    4. To remove the BrowserWatchdog malicious files that were detected in the previous step, please click on the “Clean” button.

    5. AdwCleaner will now prompt you to save any open files or data as the program will need to reboot the computer. Please do so and then click on the OK button. AdwCleaner will now delete all detected adware from your computer. When it is done it will display an alert that explains what PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) and Adware are.Please read through this information and then press the OK button. You will now be presented with an alert that states AdwCleaner needs to reboot your computer.

    Please click on the OK button to allow AdwCleaner reboot your computer.

    STEP 4 – Clean your computer with using MalwareBytes Anti-Malware

    • Open MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
    • Perform a Quick Scan
    • when scan is done, right click in the results and select “Check all items“
    • Click “Remove Selected” button
    • Reboot your computer
    • Enjoy a malware free computer.
