Proverbs: Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. A stitch in time saves nine. You can't have your cake and eat it too. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Similes: Quick as a flash. Dumb as an ox. White as a sheet. Then there's a great joke my Dad once told me. A friend of his saw a really old stove and said, "This stove is so old, it remembers Captain Cook!" Hey, it's not a simile, or a proverb. But it is certainly funny. Looking for an Ideal Education?
