How to make iOS builds for AppStore

As mentioned in iOS app signing profiles and builds, You would typically use Ad-hoc for Testflight.  However, you can  use an AppStore build too.

Within Visual Studio for Mac, select iOS project>AppStore>Generic Device. A connected iOS device seems OK too. Select preference>publishing>apple developer accounts>apple id>view details, check certificates status is valid, not "Not in keychain". Otherwise need to export private key from one mac the new mac. Then download profiles

Open info.plist, choose automatic provisioning and select team. It should show "Ready to deploy app to connected device".

Note that in this case iOS bundle signing in project options: signing identity and provisioning profile are greyed out.

Rebuild iOS project, then Archive for Publishing > Sign and Distribute > App Store

Xcode 11 removed application loader, upgrade visual studio for mac. Now upload and export are integrated in Archive for publishing.

If the publishing only does creating IPA and claims publishing succeeded too soon, check Xamarin.iOS update in Visual Studio, install 13.4 or later will bring back upload and export screen.

upload with apple developer user account name and an app-specific password.
Generate an app-specific password via!&page=signin eg. label: app specific pw,

1.Go to and login
2. Security -> App specified PW -> type in anything it will generate a PW for IPA upload
3. Go application loader, copy and paste the auto-generate PW
