Visual Studio waiting for localhost / loading too slow

In Visual Studio, we need to view an ASP.NET web page frequently via View in Browser, Browse With... or View in a Page Inspector. If waiting for localhost is too slow, it may be not the issue of the local web server. The issue could be slow debugging loading. Could it be "slow symbol loading"? You may need to
1. debugging setting, check Enable Just My Code under Tools -> Options -> Debugging -> General
2. Go to Tools -> Options -> Debugging -> Symbols -> ... -> Load all symbols, download Microsoft Symbols to a local folder and then uncheck the checkbox next to Microsoft Symbol Servers to prevent Visual Studio from remotely querying the Microsoft servers. Note that if you make any changes/downloads to Microsoft assemblies, you may need to go back into the Symbols dialog box and "Load all symbols" again.
See details at

If it is a debugging related issue, alternatively you could set debug="false".

Sometimes it could be a local web server issue. You are welcome to share your solution or workaround here.

Website build options: No Build, Build Page and Build Web Site
Do you have a huge website? Sometimes you may need to choose Build current Page or even No build to save the the time building entire website. Simply locate your website under Solution in Visual Studio, right click the website folder, select Property Pages. Select Build > Start action > Before running startup page, and do what ever you want. Note that if you don't want to view the page, you can build a page use context menu Build Page.
