Sunnybank Music Teacher

Welcome! My name is Toni and I am a professional flautist, and graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music specialising in advanced performance. Learning a musical instrument can be an essential tool in cultivating qualities such as Patience, Discipline and Confidence in young children. An experienced teacher can make a vast difference in inspiring these qualities in a child. I understand every child learns differently and I believe it is my duty to be flexible and adapt my teaching methods to the needs of each individual. I will focus on developing strong fundamentals such as: TONE, TECHNIQUE, MUSICALITY and POSTURE (it is very important to play with the correct posture in the early stages in order to avoid injuries further down the path). Having taken lessons from various teachers overseas (see ‘General Details’ for my CV), I have a wide knowledge and perspective in the methods of teaching. With my experience, I am able to prepare students for AMEB examinations, competitions and orchestral auditions! I am also fluent in Mandarin and will be able to teach in Mandarin if it is preferred
