Special Purpose
Scotch Oakburn College was formed in 1979 after Scotch College & Oakburn College (formerly Methodist Ladies College) amalgamated. The school itself & its site date back to 1886 for which the school celebrated its centenary in 1986 (Methodist Ladies College began on the school's Elphin campus, today's K-6 Junior campus, in 1886. Scotch College began on the Penquite campus, the current 7-12 campus, in 1901).
